  • Successful and effective coordination and management of the Belgian national surveillances 'Surveillance of Surgical Site Infections (NSIH-SSI)' and 'Surveillance of ICU-acquired Infections (NSIH-ICU)' within the department of 'Healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic resistance', including the active engagement of all relevant stakeholders.

  • Project Overview: NAPKON is a German nationwide research project that uses patient data (clinical data, image data, bio-samples) of all degrees of severity and manifestations to map the acute and long-term COVID-19 disease (Post-COVID syndrome). The COVIDOM sub-project is a population-based longitudinal study on the sequelae of COVID-19 disease
  • Successful project coordination of the COVIDOM study, including the collaboration in interdisciplinary teams within the NAPKON consortium (20 university clinics in Germany participate) during conference calls to coordinate study activities and study progress.
  • Reporting of the project progress to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, including milestones and deliverables.
  • The successful development of case definitions to determine follow-up of patients as either cases or controls.
  • The successful recalculation of the post-COVID score that was developed by our team in STATA and SPSS to help doctors to clinically determine the severity of the post-COVID syndrome in order to facilitate treatment.

  • Successful facilitation of the design and conduct of a Knowledge Attitudes and Practices (KAP) survey on IPC for emerging infections focusing on COVID-19 and EVD, incl. write-up of study protocol, design of questionnaire, conduct of pilot-study, supervision of the interviews and data analysis.
