A security and diplomacy professional with more than 25 years' experience within the UK government, EU, NATO and in the private sector across a number of roles, including management of Personnel Security Clearances (PSCs), counter intelligence (CI) and as team leader. UK government-seconded CI advisor to Baroness ASHTON (Head of the EEAS / EU High Rep for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy). Undertook all CI investigations, started / ran the security training & awareness program, built / maintained external relations with security experts in EU member states & contributed to policy (safe use of social media)
Completed various roles including on Balkans / W African policy plus two postings: First Secretary Political in the British Embassy, Lisbon, Portugal (2009 to 2011); 3rd Secretary Political in the British High Commission Freetown, Sierra Leone (2005 to 2007)
