2020.01 - Current

Developed the framework of the WWAP 'Call for Action Initiative to Accelerate Gender Equality in the Water Domain', including the associated social media strategy and communication materials. Liaised with, and advocated for, the multi-stakeholder coalition supporting the Initiative, composed of representatives from Member States and other relevant institutions and bodies. Developed and delivered the regional capacity building programme 'Water, gender and climate' for West-Africa (Nigeria) and Pacific Small Island Developing States (Fiji). Mentoring of trainees (medior-senior Government representatives) in the development of case studies. Co-authored several publications on water and gender, such as 'The interconnected nature of water, gender and climate: Case studies from the Pacific Small Island Developing States' (2024), 'Taking stock of gender equality in the Water Domain' (2021), 'UNESCO WWAP Water and Gender Working Group Position paper: A Call for Action' (2021). Organized events at various international events (e.g. World Water Forum Dakar, SIWI World Water Week, Asia International Water Week, EU Conference on Water and Gender) as well as multiple informative meetings. Led the gender contextualization of SDG indicator 6.5.2. within the UN-Water SDG6 Integrated Monitoring Initiative (IMI-SDG6), in cooperation with the Indicator Working Group.

Led the WWAP contribution to the GEF-funded 'International Waters Learning Exchange and Resources Network' (IWLEARN), including liaising with the partner Word Wildlife Fund (WWF) - US, development of training material and organization of the webinar series 'Engendering International Water'. Developed and organized high-level advocacy webinars 'Better data for better adaptation strategies' in cooperation with regional UNESCO Chairs, thereby initiating regional training programmes. Assisted in the coordination of, and presented at, several international workshops (such as Africa Water Week, SIWI World Water Week, and the GEF International Waters Conference). Managed the WWAP Twitter account and developed a social media strategy, notably growing follower base and increasing visibility. Co-managed the WWAP webpages and developed communication materials for dedicated events and publications, notably for the World Water Day and UN World Water Development Reports. Co-authored the '2019 Water and Gender Toolkit on Sex-disaggregated Water Data' and ensured the publication process.
