I am a mid-level manager in Pakistan Customs having 20 years’ experience of working in different areas of facilitation and enforcement. Currently, I am working with World Customs Organization on deputation basis as an Expert Trainer for Programme Global Shield (PGS). The programme aims at capacity building of customs in identifying, detecting, and deterring illicit movement of dual-use explosive precursors and other components of Improvised Explosive Device (IED). Leveraging effective customs controls to enhance international peace and security remained one of the major areas of my professional interest. It led my way to earn accreditations as a trainer first in AML/CFT (2011) from Australian Federal Police and later for PGS (2014) and WCO Strategic Trade Control Enforcement Programme (2016). Capacity building for customs and other border agencies forms one of the core areas of my to earn accreditations as a trainer first in AML/CFT (2011) from Australian Federal Police and later for PGS (2014) and WCO Strategic Trade Control Enforcement Programme (2016). Capacity building for customs and other border agencies forms one of the core areas of my competence, while three years’ experience working as Deputy Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office has enhanced my understanding of approaching issues holistically.. I am looking forward to working with EUP2P as a full time or part time expert on Export Controls.
