AENOR was the Spanish Association for Standardization & Certification. It is responsible for representing Spain in ISO & IEC and their regional equivalents, CEN & CENELEC. AENOR is a private entity. AENOR employed 450 people with an annual budget of 50M€.
As Director of External Relations, responsible for relations between AENOR and the Spanish public administrations at the international level (e.g. the European Commission; World Trade Organization) and was a member of the ISO General Assembly.
Proposed strategic plan for AENOR communications activities, directing the association’s magazine articles and frequent speaker at conferences.
Negotiated and led AENOR technical assistance programmes in Central & Eastern Europe, leading more than 14 projects. Oversaw the creation in 2001 of AENOR International, a subsidiary comprising AENOR Chile, AENOR Italy and AENOR Mexico.
Co-managed the Mercosur Business Forum (MEBF) held in Madrid in May 2002. Participants included Prime Minister Aznar of Spain, and European Commissioners.
Project Manager of Quality Summits in the Spanish Autonomous Communities of Andalucía, Aragón, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia. . .). Each summit of up to 1100 participants was chaired by the President of the Community and attended by enterprises certified by AENOR.
