I started playing soccer at age 6 with KFC Ramsel (regional league), always as a 10 or 9. I also did BMX, swimming, and other sports.
At age 10, I was scouted by Lierse, but they had gone bankrupt. I always wanted to win.
At age 13, I joined RWL at the provincial level, where, after one season as a 14-year-old, I ended up in goal because the regular goalkeeper was injured.
The coaches and staff immediately saw my potential, and I became the starting goalkeeper. I played for the U19 team as a 14-year-old.
At age 15, I joined KFC Houtvenne, where I started in the regional league but moved up to the INTERPROVINCIAL league after just two months, where I played many matches. At the start of the following season, I was scouted by Union Saint-Gilloise and Cercle Brugge (see below for more). In the end, I stayed at Houtvenne and played one year higher up. We won the championship in the top Interprovinciale division.
Then, as a 16-year-old, I trained with KFC Houtvenne’s first team (then in the 2nd National Division), and the following season I played for the reserve team. I trained weekly with Westerlo’s U18 team and first team, and at age 17 I was scouted by RSC Anderlecht (see below for more).
I finished the season with Houtvenne’s first team and Westerlo’s U18 Elite team.
I currently plays for Westerlo’s U21 Elite team and Houtvenne’s first team (First National Division).

I completed my entire preparation with Westerlo’s youth team and played matches with the U21 Elite team against PSV U19, Vlijtingen’s first team, and Wezel Sport’s first team (with Westerlo’s youth team). I kept two clean sheets and conceded one goal against Wezel Sport 1 on a penalty kick. I haven’t signed a contract yet and am open to other opportunities where there’s a path to the first team.

I was scouted when I was playing for Houtvenne’s national youth team. Because of my good saves, physical profile, ability to play the ball, communication—but above all, my strong mentality?
I had one training session where the goalkeeper coach (Yoni De Maeyer) tested everything I could do (reflexes, ball control, distribution, etc.). After the session—during which I had very positively impressed the coach, scout, and others—we immediately had a conversation in which they said they would have offered me a contract right then and there if I were just one year younger, and they extended my trial period right away.
I trained for two weeks with the goalkeeper sessions and team practices, where I once again made a strong impression on both the coaches and the players (when they asked the players about me, their response was that I had made a big impression and really stood out).
After those two weeks, they immediately extended my trial period by another three weeks, during which I trained with the team and goalkeeper coaches, including Silvio Proto; I also trained with several goalkeepers from the RSCA Futures program. After these strong three weeks, I was given the opportunity to prove myself in a match against the Luxembourg team Hesperange; I kept a clean sheet and had a quiet game. After the match, we had a conversation in which they first said many positive things; they compared me to Simon Mignolet (also a late bloomer) and reiterated that I had made a strong and promising impression. But then they said that the plan was for me to become the starting goalkeeper for RSCA Futures—a huge step, in other words. And with Matthis Seghers rapidly rising through the ranks, bringing me on board was a major risk; after much hesitation, they ultimately decided against it. I then finished out my season with Houtvenne’s first team and Westerlo’s U18 squad. After the season, I moved up to Westerlo’s U21 team.

When I was 15, I went for a trial with the U21 elite and youth teams for a few weeks; the conclusion was that I’d be better off continuing my development at Houtvenne. I was able to keep up with the level of play, but it was a good and fair decision—even though I was very disappointed.

I was scouted at a goalkeeper camp and went for a trial right away with the youth team. I decided not to do the second trial session because of issues with my mom (brain hemorrhage, etc.).
