In summary;- Since joining Timpson on the 13th January 2025, I've continued to grow and flourish in a different retail sector to my previous experience. In this time I've completed all of my skill levels and successfully built up a strong network of colleagues who have supported my journey. I've thoroughly enjoyed the vast opportunities to learn with Timpson and being given the freedom in the framework to give the very best service to my customers. Having had the opportunity to manage my own branch under the Timpson 'Upside down management' structure has been AMAZING! Freedom to do the right thing, at the right time for our customers, in my opinion... The Timpson MAGIC.

  • Culture Course - Meeting John Timpson and our amazing colleagues from across the Group gave a real inside look at what goes on behind the scenes, giving a real appreciation of just how hard all our colleagues work to deliver great service to our customers.
  • Feedback/ Suggestions - Timpson is a business all about listening and responding, that includes colleagues. Something I feel very passionate about myself. On two separate occasions when I've had a suggestion not only has this been listened to, its been acted upon. To me this shows a company that embeds a engaging culture. (Having had responses both from Dan Jenkins (Colleague Development Manager and Chris Arthur Regional Director.)
  • Training/ Networking - All one to one training is given which makes the learning journey so enjoyable! Getting the opportunity to work alongside a range of experienced colleagues who are passionate about their job and want you to succeed, some even given up their personal time to give you that extra support! What a team to be a part of!
  • The customer - Having been a Mobile Colleague before Branch Manager, getting to work across Area 10 meant I had plenty of time to meet lots of new customers every day! What I love most about our roles are we get to make someones day, whether that's a random act of kindness or simply giving up 10 minutes of our day to talk to someone who might only see us that day, its the difference we make not just through our work but through our overall customer service we deliver.

Mobile Manager - Why I am suitable for this role.

I believe Mobile Manager role is suited to me because I still get to be a part of the customer journey each day and give great customer experiences... 'staying in touch'.. giving valuable insight to challenges and first hand solutions, but I can also delve deeper into helping improve and continue to grow this experience across our area in a range of ways from, coaching and developing our colleagues, new and old. Reviewing our shops for growth opportunities from financial to cosmetic. Play a proactive part in recruitment for our next super stars and help to continue to build a strong engaged network of colleagues. 

Some of the ways I plan on doing this include the following:

  • Skill assessing
  • Covering not just busiest but quietest branches
  • 5 star visits
  • Perfect day visits

Finally, I may not have the experience that some of our amazing colleagues have in this business in the practical sense, however I do come with commercial awareness, eagerness to learn and grow and a CAN DO attitude. I've got experience in managing/ accountable for large teams ranging from 15-1500, in operational efficency and HR processes. I'm a people engager and get job satisfaction through developing high performing teams. I've got a key eye for detail, and have the adaptability and flexibility this role requires with the goal of further progressing on to be a Area Development Manager.
