The Ph.D., Research is towards to develop the metal based Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) by bottom up approach using green source as the raw materials. CQDs and metal based CQDs were developed for various optical and non optical applications. The keystone of this work was to find and develop a non-toxic, green-based, fluorescent materials for optical applications. During this journey, research and review articles were published in international peer review journals indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus and Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index.

- Conducted research on the effect of optical properties of carbon based nanomaterials
- Studied the optical, structural and morphological properties of nanomaterials using various characterization techniques like UV, Fluorescent spectrometry, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XPS and XRD
- Designed and developed new carbon based nanomaterials for applications in fluorescent metal-ion sensing, photocatalytic and cancer imaging
- Collaborated with forensic scientist to develop and implement new latent fingerprint nanopowders
- Prepared scientific research papers and published 6 articles in international peer review journals(SCI-indexed and SCOPUS indexed journals- RSC, Springer, Elsevier)
- Published 2 critical REVIEW articles on fluorescent mechanism on heavy metal ions and different potential roles of Carbon based materials in photocatalytic reactions
- Supervised 4 post graduate thesis projects in nanomaterials
- Supervised and mentored post graduate students in laboratory experiments related to nanomaterials.
