Additional Information

  • LinkedIn Profile:
  • I have been a Process Business Development Leader focused on Metals, Mining & Cement in Europe for more than 5 years. As part of this role, myself, and the Rockwell Automation strategic account manager for Outotec managed to win the first turnkey Process Control System project directly order by Outotec from Rockwell Automation. As Process BDL I am part of a new sales team within Rockwell Automation geared towards outcome base and solution selling in the process industries and growing the Lifecycle Services business unit inside Rockwell Automation. In this role I collaborate with colleagues from different business units but also from different regions on certain project pursuits. During these pursuits I need to manage these internal teams to provide their deliverables for the pursuits. In this role I have managed to bring new logo's to Rockwell Automation, especially in Lithium processing where my understanding of the market and process have made a difference but also highlighting Rockwell Automation's experience in the industry. Before becoming a BDL I was Industry Solution Leader focused on Metals, Mining & Cement in EMEA were by, I supported the local Account Managers to sell Rockwell Automation solutions to our customers. As part of this new role, I was offered to relocate and then moved from South Africa to Belgium. My main role was to support the Account Managers with Process and technical knowledge regarding the Metals, Mining and Cement industry and winning orders for Rockwell Automation. As the Industry Solution Leader, I was the main contact with Lafarge Holcim Head Quarters with whom Rockwell Automation was engaged to create a Process Library for the Cement Industry, particularly for Lafarge Holcim but also internally for Rockwell Automation to add to their PlantPAx system. I received an EMEA Technical Innovation reward in 2018 for the creation of the Cement Library I prefer to take a consultative approach with a customer when discussing their pain points but also working through their long-term strategies. Listening to the customer and gather information on their needs and then work with them to get to their ideal solution. With this type of approach, I have managed to build strong and lasting relationship with customers. I thrive in these circumstances as I do believe working together to a common goal is much more enjoyable. I have been in the Automation industry for over twenty years, where seventeen of those was spent on project delivery as Lead engineer or Project Manager and the last five years dedicated to sales. In the last two years I have managed to attract new customers to Rockwell Automation, this in new countries and new industry, but also get new orders from our existing customers. With the new customers it, the fact that I could demonstrate to the customers what Rockwell Automation could provide to their projects and the experience that we could showcase to them in the different industries that helped to win these projects. While being a Project Manager and Lead Engineer, I managed several successful projects that had been implemented at Impala Platinum. A key competency is the ability to engage with stakeholders at a variety of levels and from various organisations as well as external consulting engineers. In delivering those projects in a demanding and ever-changing environment, it has allowed me to develop a number of skills ranging from the core technical abilities, project management and commercials nuances, all underpinned by a fundamental communication competency. Managing the Impala platinum account helped me has refined my skills in building sustainable client relationships. One of the highlights of my career to date has been the proven track record of project delivery and meeting all client expectations. Being dedicated to the Impala & Rockwell Automation (RA) relationship has given me insight on how to train and guide a team to consistently deliver excellent services, and technically sound solutions and how to generate new business from existing relationships. Managing multiple projects concurrently has developed my skills in scheduling resources, suppliers, 3rd party contractors and commercial terms. In managing this account, a key competency has been the need to lead and motivate a team of people. Through training to RA's standards, performance management and personal and professional development of the team reporting to me, the high standards set by RA have been delivered to our clients. Team motivation through times of high workloads has been achieved through recognition and celebration of successes and focusing on building a strong team ethos and camaraderie. I have also had the opportunity to facilitate PlantPAx Mining Solution training to Rockwell Engineers in Globally, visiting countries like Canada, China, Australia, Czech Republic, and America. Virtual training was done with Account Managers from different countries too. During these training sessions, being in person or virtual, I have had to adapt my approach to accommodate diverse language and cultural backgrounds. I presented the PlantPAx Mining Solution to a Brazilian and a Chilean delegation at the RA Mining Seminars in April 2013. Through my tenure at Hiprom and Rockwell Automation I have gained a level of experience and competence that I believe has equipped me to look at new challenges and take them on with a positive attitude to get to the correct outcome.
